Fabulous cruise by
A Traveler from PA
Sailing date: Mar 2010 Pros:
The friendly staff, lots of activities to choose and beautiful ports of call.
Cons:
Smaller ship missing the promenade.
The ship was clean and looked great for a 6 yr old ship. They had everyone use waterless soap before entering all the dining rooms which is good to decrease spread of illness.
Our bartender at the centrum and assistant waiter were fabulous!
Ship Quality
Dining/Food The food was all great with a good variety. The midnight buffets no longer provide special food.

Best cruise I've ever taken by
Mary H. from Jacksonville, FL
Sailing date: Nov 2007 Pros:
the solarium
The Jewel is a beautiful ship, and so roomy. I never felt crowded like on some other cruise lines. The solarium is a secret luxury I hate to share. We traveled in late October, and whenever we were on board and not in a show or a dining room, we were in the solarium, resting, reading, swimming, hot-tubbing, and really relaxing.

Entertainment & Activities The only thing I didn't care for were the unregulated slot machines in the casino. It's fun to hang out occasionally in the casino, but I do it more for entertainment than gambling. Losing your money in just a few minutes isn't entertaining.

Great cruise! by
A Traveler from West Virginia
Sailing date: Jan 2008 Pros:
The beautiful ship and food
Cons:
Excursion
This cruise was our second and to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It was on the Jewel of the Seas to the Southern Caribbean.
Ship Quality Jewel of the Seas is a beautiful ship.
Dining/Food Tides Dining Room, Windjammer and room service were all excellent food.
Stateroom Quality We had a state room with a balcony. There was plenty of storage space.
Ship Staff Quality All the staff on the Jewel of the Seas was extremely helpful.
Entertainment & Activities Entertainment was excellent. Our favorite was the comedian Gary Mule Deer.

Belize City, Belize We went on the Tale of Two Cities Tour. The ruins were very interesting but the information given does not tell you the bus ride is an hour and a half each way.

Transatlantic cruise by
A Traveler from Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Cons:

The ship was very nice. Overall I would go on the ship again but I would do more research on excursions.

Entertainment & Activities The ship was very nice but the activities were not scheduled appropriately and if you were not there 1/2 hour early you would not get a seat.

Falmouth, Cornwall, England Do Not do the excursion titled a Quaint Cornish Fishing Village. I believe what Quaint means to Royal Caribbean is Dump! There were not any good shops and nothing to do. The worst part is when we came back from the excursion to be tendered to the ship there were about 300 people if not more waiting in line to do the same. It was bad enough Royal Caribbean did not stagger their excursions but we had to stand in the pooring rain and freezing cold. I am doubting whether I cruise with Royal Caribbean again due to this error on their part, which they blamed on the Port Authorities. Nevertheless Royal could have had everyone stay on their buses and unload one bus at a time to be tendered. Royal could have provided hot coffee and cover from the rain and cold but they did nothing.
Le Havre (Paris), France We did Paris on our own. We managed to see some of the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. It was a blast. The bad part was we could not get a taxi to take us from the Louvre to our pick up point and we thought we could make it back in time. We were 15 minutes late but we still had a rather good time.
Don't Miss: The Louvre
Cork, Ireland We did the Blarney Castle excursion. This was not a castle more like a silo. We went into town prior to the excursion and the town is very depleted. If you want to go in to town simply to drink then I would recommend any pub and you will have a good time.
Zeebrugge (Brussels), Belgium We did Brudge on our own. There was plenty of shopping and places to eat/drink. It was very nice. They are known for their chocolate and for good reason
Don't Miss: Chocolate

A Merry Christmas by
Jeff and Emily from Boston
Sailing date: Dec 2006 Pros:
Beautiful ship
Cons:
Drinks/soda were too expensive.
The ship had lots to do and and was very nice. Staff was great.
Just felt like we were always spending extra money. Drinks were very $$$$$.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Loved the wait staff....thought the bar tender was pushy and a bit nasty if we weren't getting drinks.
Stateroom Quality A little small.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities Not much to do if one did not go to port of call. Weather was not great so sitting in the sun or by the pool was out too. The women on the staff who had the shopping tip class was a bit untruthful. She really made you feel it was necessary to purchase a coupon book for $25.00 and the stuff from the coupons were really junky and it took forever to get to the places as they were up and down the whole street. That was quite a disappointment.
Collapse List of Ports
Costa Maya, Mexico Not a great port. Not much to do and shops were a bit junky.
Cozumel, Mexico We spent too much time on the coupon hunt.
There was a nice State Park not too far away from the ship....just a short taxi ride.
Nice beach and some dolphin encounter activities.
George Town, Grand Cayman Nice town and nice beach.....would have been fun on a nice day.

Okay Cruise by
Ethel K from Braintree, Ma
Sailing date: Oct 2006 Pros:
Service was excellent
Cons:
Food
It was a beautiful ship, very well kept and the service was excellent as always on Royal Carribean. We have sailed on the Voyager of the Seas and Radiance of the Seas. This was a chartered cruise and it seemed as if they did not offer the same amenities.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food The quality of the food was disappointing, not as good as other Royal carribean cruises.
Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities They only offered entertainment not any shows
Collapse List of Ports
King's Wharf, Bermuda There is really nothing to see at King's Wharf you need to take a long bus ride, or a boat ride to get to downtown Hamilton where there is a lot to see and do. The bus ride is about and hour
