Belize City, Belize Very poor, nothing really to do, we did not book an off shore excursion, just went shopping and had a drink.
Cozumel, Mexico We did the Discover Mexico Tour which was awesome, but did not like the shopping area, too much begging and pulling visitors into stores.
George Town, Grand Cayman We did the Atlantis Submarine
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras This port was our most favorite. We did the Jolly Roger's Tour, it was AWESOME!!!

Great Times!! by
A Traveler from Greenville, SC
Sailing date: Jun 2010 Pros:
Staff was very friendly and all ports, with the exception of Belize, was amazing, especially Roatan.
Cons:
Belize City Port - could totally skip that one and spend an extra day at Roatan.
This was our first Carnival Cruise as we have taken multiple Royal Caribbean cruises in the past. The ship was very clean and staff very helpful. I really can't offer anything negative to say. There were many pools to choose from, family to adult, whatever your chosing.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Food was good, although we had to ask numerous times to have water glasses refilled and addl bread, as they try and limit you to one roll. We had the late dining as we don't want to be rushed when returning back to the boat after a day of excursions. Bar staff in the dining room was amazing, Marko from Serbia, and he truly is an asset to Carnival. I can not say enough about him.
Stateroom Quality We had a balcony room -cost wise and with two teenage girls this was great. We had a king size bed and two twins. Location was great, although we were on the 8th floor and right below the dining area, so we would hear early birds with their chairs, but other than that, we had no complaints.
Ship Staff Quality All staff was very willing to help in any way.
Entertainment & Activities Entertainment was okay - there was one night the guy was very lame, but other than that all entertainment was great. Linda, who was the shopping expert, was just that, an expert. She knew where to get the best deals and was always on shore to help in any way with questions.

Belize City, Belize Not a very safe area. We actually got off the boat and spent about an hour at the shops which were nothing to write home about. This is definitely a country with poverty. Lots of security all around. I didn't feel very safe here. I wish they would stop going to Belize and stay an extra day at Roatan. I think as long as you do an excursion booked through the ship, you will be fine. We have done this in the past, we went snorkeling, but doing something and venturing out on your own, I really don't recommend this.
Cozumel, Mexico Always a great time at Cozumel. All restaurants were great. Margaritaville is always a must.
George Town, Grand Cayman Great as always. We had been there multiple times.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras This is a new port. We thoroughly enjoyed it and actually are looking just to spend a week there. Beautiful beaches. Don't spend the $10 for a ride to the beach, waste of $$. It was a beautiful walk and they are planting tropical foliage, so in time will be beautiful. This is a new stop. I wish we spent extra day there. There is a reef to the left of the dock and my family said it was amazing.
Don't Miss: Beach!!!

Ship Quality
Dining/Food The staff was excellent, food was great, the entire experience greatly exceeded our expectations.
Stateroom Quality Room was spacious,Bathroom was large for a cruise ship, very clean, TV actually had something to watch, lots and lots of storage space.
Ship Staff Quality To a person the staff acted in an appropriate manner, even the photographers, the crew made a great experience superb! Our steward and waiters deserve particular praise!

A beautiful Ship by
Paul W from Scottsdale, AZ
Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
Nice Layout and beautiful Public Areas
Cons:
Smaller Cabins but manageable for 2 adults & 2 small children
I was skeptical about taking a Carnival Cruise, but this ship was on par with Holland America. I have been on many cruises and I was impressed. The Legend is a beautiful ship and the crew is GREAT!!

Had a great time by
Donna G from Pittsburgh, PA
Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
cabin maintenance/cleaniness, cruise staff
Cons:
Trolley Roger excursion in Grand Cayman should be discontinued. What a waste of time and money I also did not like the attitude of the photo supevisor. She was rather rude to us and very rude to another group whose frame glass cracked and she would not do anything to help other than blame them fo
Overall I really enjoyed my time on the cruise. I was impressed with the fitness equipment although some of the customers could have used some guidance from the staff.. They seemed more interested in the private session clients

We Had A Great Time by
Michelle F from Harrisburg, NC
Sailing date: Dec 2008 Pros:
Being with family and friends
Cons:
People getting up at 6am, putting their towels on chairs and then returning at 11am to sit in them!
The ship is beautiful. It is big enough to escape to be on your own for a while but not so big that you get lost. The common areas were well maintained and the spa was excellent!
Ship Quality Carnival has never let me down with their quality and design.
Dining/Food If you go hungry on this cruise....it is your own fault!
Stateroom Quality Our only problem with our stateroom and hallway outside of our stateroom was sometimes it smelled like rotten fruit. I don't know why this was as other hallways and floors above and below us didn't smell. The smell came and went; it was weird.
Ship Staff Quality While the staff was great, they weren't as friendly and outgoing as the crew in the past.
Entertainment & Activities Shows were great; my 4 year old daughter was up on stage and got a "magic quarter" that turned into five dollars the next morning after she put it under her pillow! Good thing we had cash!
Children's Programs My kids loved Camp Carnival.
Collapse List of Ports
Belize City, Belize Cave Tubing was the best!
Cozumel, Mexico I wish we could have spent two days in this port. There was so much I wanted to do and so little time to do it all!
Don't Miss: Caverns By Jeep and Beach Combo
George Town, Grand Cayman 7 Mile Beach
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras This stop was great. Best bet: Get a local guide to tour you around the town and don't be afraid to haggle. They expect it.
Don't Miss: Island Tour

Great cruise ... by
Kathryn M from Wilmington, NC
Sailing date: Oct 2008 Pros:
Ports of call
Cons:
Unfortunately the weather wasn't what we hoped for ... but we had a GREAT time anyway
Great ship .. many activites and venues. Carnival does need to improve their communications to the passengers a bit, however. When they change something or need to "direct" the passengers, they were slow to get out signage or announce those changes over the loudspeakers. Other than that, all met and exceeded our expectations. Great food, beautiful dining room, ample chairs at all 3 pools.

From an experienced cruiser by
A Traveler from Tampa, FL
Sailing date: Sep 2007 Pros:
Overall exceed my expectations
Cons:
Not as upscale as some ships
I have cruised many times on the more upscale cruise lines and I was not looking forward to cruising with Carnival because I had always viewed them as catering to the booze-cruise crowd. My expectation was that I would be spending a week at a floating Frat party. However, I was not only pleasantly surprised but I was actually impressed with the entire cruise. The ship interior was immaculate; the food was top rate; the staff was exceptionally friendly (especially the waiters in the main dining room); and the spa had every service you would need. Was it as classy and upscale as other lines? No, but only myself and a few other patrons would know it. For those of you experiencing your first cruise, this one is the tops. Here are some helpful tips: 1. the best deal is the Ocean View Stateroom Guaranteed (this has the best chance of getting upgraded to a balcony cabin); 2. if you are local, the best bet is to rent a one-way car rental and drop it off at the ship instead of paying large parking fees (Enterprise, Alamo, and Budget have offices near the port and provide a free shuttle to the ship); 3. if you want to see the islands but don't want to pay the ships excursion fees, other options are to rent a scooter, a jeep, or take a tour from one of the tour guides on the pier.
Ship Quality Top notch! Very well laid out. Also, this ship has many coin-operated laundry rooms, so you don't need to pack as many clothes!
Dining/Food The main dining area has something for everyone!
Stateroom Quality Clean and comfortable with everything you would expect from a quality cruise ship. (Try not to overpack, but remember to bring sunscreen, aloe, and bug spray (just in case you do a jungle hike).
Ship Staff Quality Fantastic! I especially enjoyed the little song and dance the waitstaff do after desert is served.
Entertainment & Activities A little disappointed in the talent, but they tried their best.

Belize City, Belize Bring bug spray! We went to see the Baboon Sanctuary, which was about an hour from the ship. It was fun but expensive ($40 per person).
Cozumel, Mexico We rented a Jeep ($40) off of the ship and went snorkeling at Chankanaab, which was amazing!
Don't Miss: Chankanaab
George Town, Grand Cayman We rented a scooter ($40) off of the ship and went to all the beaches and the Turtle Farm
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras Beaches are nice (but not as nice as Cozumel). We paid a taxi $30 r/t to take us to the beach. The flea market across the street from the port will satisfy all your souvenir needs!

A fabulous Cruise by
Pamela F from Chesapeake Beach, Md
Sailing date: Jul 2007 Pros:
the many things that there were to do on the boat itself
Cons:
the fact that it was not completely all inclusive
The ship was always clean and the staff was very curtious
Ship Quality As I said in my cons the only thing that would have made this exceptional was if the alcohol and the excursions had been included in the price of the cruise itself

Costa Maya, Mexico It was great we went to Chechoben and the only thing that bothered me is when one of the tour guides told my husband that it was actually man built that it was on the site but these ruins were not uncovered they were just built on the site.
Cozumel, Mexico
George Town, Grand Cayman Didn't really do much in any of the ports, I did eat at Senor Frogs in the Caymans though definately recommend that.

enjoyable,awesome staff,daily newsletter by
A Traveler from Portland, OR
Sailing date: Jun 2006 Pros:
nice cabins,clean,affordable
Cons:
disappointed with dinner in Truffles...just OK
this was a "FunShip" and very busy with lots of children and young adults....our first cruise and we were looking for something a little less active...great if you want lots of activities and hype
Ship Quality nonsmokers had to avoid the deck with the casino and smoking lounges if you needed to get from one end of the ship to the other as they were midship and unavoidable unless you went up or down before getting to those areas. difficult as there seemed to be random smoking areas throughout the ship and we spent extra time trying to stay clear for health reasons.....
Dining/Food we'd always heard how fabulous the food was on cruises but we prefered the ''food court'' area instead of the dining room ( "Truffles") for dinner. nice atmosphere and more relaxed but just not impressed with the menu
Stateroom Quality good size - lighting was good and the cabin Stewards exceeded our expectations with efficiency; available for any needs, including privacy, and we loved having our bed turned down for us at night with the cutest towel critter creations-a different one each night
Ship Staff Quality ALL staff were so friendly and helpful and we were impressed with how they remembered us from one day to the next and always making sure we had whatever we needed.
Entertainment & Activities definitely a large variety of activities to choose from and sometimes even hard to choose as some were either at the same time or overlaping each other. daily newsletter was great to have and most people carried them each day for reference and reminders.
Children's Programs we had no children with us but were surprised to see schoolage/preteens without parents every day and some of them were literaly running through the areas with no apparent supervision and also allowed into some of the shows/activities that were not appropriate for them....parents fault, not staff
Collapse List of Ports
Road Town, Tortola, B.V.I. not enough time there to explore and see more
Don't Miss: probably the beaches
San Juan, Puerto Rico Historic tour - Bacardi rum distillery ....tour was simply a bus ride from the dock area to Bacardi and the driver was informative but hurried and it was hard to see from the bus windows
Don't Miss: probably the beaches
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Blackbeards tour was good but we were not told that we would be walking down the hillside steps (more than 100 of them) and for some of us it was way too much.
Don't Miss: the Castaway catamaran snorlkleing trip was great!!!
